The Struggle of Young Christians against Repeated Sins (Part 4) The Entangling Sin

Now you might wonder why you fall into that same sin again and again. It is because the nature of sin is that it entangles. It means that it intertwines around you. As you try to escape you find that you are held more strongly and in more confusing knots.

David spoke of this as being in a slimy pit in mud and mire. You are also like this when you are caught in the same sin again and again. One of the reasons for this is because you try to find out whether what you do is sin or not.

Though you know what you do to be sin you try in vain to find some support from books or people to try to paint your sin white. It never works.

As long as you keep trying to justify your sinful ways you cannot experience victory over sin. If you desire to have victory over sin, call sin as SIN.

And wait patiently for God as David waited. Then He will lift you up out of the slimy pit, mud and mire and set your feet upon a rock from where you would not fall down into sin again (Psalm 40:1,2).

Look to Jesus and keep running the race of faith. It is by perseverance that you gain victory. In spite of sin that twines around you get up and run. Don’t remain comfortable in a defeated state.

Struggle with sin with a great struggle to the point of shedding your blood. And strengthen your feeble arms and knees.

God desires that you be healed and not disabled (Ref. Hebrews 12:1-4, 12-13). He wants you to be healed in your innermost heart of your hurts. He desires victory for you now.
