The Resurrection of Jesus Is a Life-Changing Reality

Has anyone approached you to believe in their faith? If so, think about all that they told you. What difference did you find about their faith and your faith in Jesus Christ?

Whether you realised it or not is the resurrection of Jesus from the dead is that one thing that is undeniably what is different. No one else has made such a claim; for Jesus said, “I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever (Rev. 1:18)!”

The preaching of the apostles were all centred on the resurrection (see Acts 1:22; 2:24, 32; 3:15, 26; 4:10, 33; 5:30, 10:40). Preaching the resurrection was what offended the religious leaders of the day (Acts 4:2).
As you think of the resurrection there are certain key thoughts that cannot be overlooked:

One, the resurrection of Jesus is an undeniable fact of history. It is the resurrection that changed the fearful disciples into bold witnesses. They testified to the resurrection in front of those who had crucified Jesus.

Two, following the resurrection and ascension of Jesus to heaven, he was glorified in heaven. In simple words, he was crowned with glory and honour. As a result, God the Holy Spirit was poured out on believers and they boldly began to testify to the resurrection of Jesus from the dead (see Acts 2:32, 33).

Three, the Bible declares that the same mighty power that God displayed in raising Jesus from the dead is available to you and me. Amazing but true (see Ephesians 1:19, 20)! So if you are still struggling with wrong and sinful habits and yield to temptations easily, know that you have experienced nothing of the resurrection power available to a believer.

Finally, the resurrection is not a beautiful concept but a life-changing reality. Saul the man who persecuted Christians became Paul a mighty witness of the resurrection of Jesus Christ when he encountered the risen Lord on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:5).

If you have no message to tell others, it is simply because you haven’t experienced the resurrection or its dynamite power. You are still struggling to maintain a “good Christian life” in the power of your own strength. It is like trying to move a huge tree fallen on a river bank by pushing with all your strength. It won’t move an inch.
But let the river flood and flow. It will lift that tree and move it effortlessly. That, my friend, is what happens when the Holy Spirit comes into your life like a flood when a dam bursts and the pent-up waters coming rushing at terrific force. Then you know what the power of resurrection is.
