The Risen Christ is speaking:
“See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”
You might have prayed long about closed doors in your life.
You kept knocking at many of them but they did not open. And you are disheartened. Yet the promise is true because the One who spoke is faithful. He always keeps his word without fail.
Take a moment to think:
In spite of all that seems lost, aren’t there blessings in those very same closed doors you failed to see? Did you not learn to trust God more, and wait for his time in your life with patience?
Did you not find hope even when everything seemed hopeless? Did not people come into your life to help and encourage you in unexpected times?
Perhaps, during this time you learned to count your blessings; didn’t you? Instead of complaining about all those things you do not have!
God is not over with you yet.
He is busy but patiently working out circumstances. You might not see what is happening but the Sun shines anyway behind the clouds. Even though your needs are so great that you seem to break underneath its pressure, God is still saying to you, “Wait, my time is not yet come!”
Why is God taking that long? you might ask.
He is preparing your heart. Just like a farmer prepares the ground before sowing the seed, you have to be prepared for the blessing that God has planned for you. The preparation is not pleasant. It is tough. No discipline seems welcome at this time. Whatever rough edges you have is being chiselled away. The finer the chiselling, the longer it takes.
But then, God is also preparing others.
He sometimes allows a crisis in other people’s lives so that you may step in at the right moment as the answer to the situations they are facing. God can move the hearts of the most unlikely people to show favour to you. He changes times and seasons. Therefore keep trusting God.
Finally, God’s time is always right.
Why? Because he alone knows when you, people, and circumstances are fully ready. He can easily call into existence those things that do not exist right now. Therefore stop looking at circumstances and being afraid. Stop putting your trust in people, because even with good intentions there are limits to what people can do for you.
There is no power on earth, heaven or hell to close the door that God has kept open for you. Believe it. And start thanking God for that open door that he has kept for you!

“These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut” — Revelation 3:7b, 8a Bible.
