Heaven

Heaven is a comforting reality.
Just before His death Jesus addressed His disciples and asked them not to let their hearts be troubled. He told that in His Father’s house were many rooms and He was going to prepare a place for them. And after doing so He would come back to take them to be with Him forever.

The comfort is that Jesus is even now preparing to receive you to His place. The comfort again is that it is the Father’s house where His children belong to and you are welcome. It is a reality you can look forward to with hope and certainty.

Paul wrote to the Corinthians saying: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”

Heaven is centered on the Throne of God.
Earth may have many centers of power and authority. And there might arise conflicts between these as the world has seen many times in the past and even today. But heaven is centered on the throne of God.

In the vision that John was shown of heaven the throne of God occupies the chiefest attention. The Book of Psalms tells us that God’s throne will last for ever and ever; and when nations together take a stand against God, “The One enthroned in heaven laughs!”

The point to be noted is this: If God is on the throne of your heart, then you have heaven within you. And when God is on the throne of your heart the prayer Jesus taught you to pray becomes a reality in your life: Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

And John noted in his epistle that “`The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.”

Heaven is going to be New
One of the great leaps of prophecy into the future in the Book of Isaiah happened when God said: “Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth.

The former things will not be remembered nor will they come to mind.” A new heaven means that those who become eligible to be there are also to have a new nature.

That is why Jesus said: “No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.” Paul added: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

The physical manifestations of heaven made new; its glory, beauty, purity, brilliance and radiance are all described in the last chapters of Revelation. And Jesus is the only way to reach there!

You can prepare your hearts for heaven today by forgetting your past for it is gone and in Jesus you have been made new; fit for heaven!
