Be Strong, Do Not Fear; Your God Will Come

Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you” (Isaiah 35:3,4 NIV).

Fear! There might be no Christian who at some point in his life has not yielded to fear. God understands you in a very intimate way when you are tormented by fear. He does not despise you because you have become weak.

But He longs to make you strong. Your hands will be strengthened more than before. Your knees which wobble today shall be made steady.

His welcome voice will sound in your ears: “Be strong.” This is so special. Without such a command ringing in your ears it is difficult to regain strength. This is the Almighty God speaking. You cannot but obey. Therefore be strong!

Do not fear, says He. Only His presence can give you courage and stop you from being fearful. Therefore the Word says that “Your God will come.” What a blessed comfort is that thought. He is coming to you.

With great fury He will destroy whatever is causing you fear. His purpose is to save you with a mighty deliverance. The time for Him to appear has come. The mighty God is willing to strengthen you. When He comes, fear has to leave for fear cannot stand in the presence of God.

Is fear tearing you to pieces today? Cheer up. Your God shall not stand watching as an onlooker when you are tormented. He will come. As surely as the sun will rise, so shall He come.

Hold on to His words, “Be strong, do not fear!” Believe it with all your heart. It shall open the doors for His coming to you. Cheer up. He will come to save you.
