Those Who Hope in the Lord

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint –(Isaiah 40:31 NIV).

Hoping in the Lord can be disheartening at times because the answer to your prayers may have been delayed. At this point of time, it is very easy to complain that God has disregarded your cause. But is it so?

No, not at all. We may grow tired watching and waiting for God to act. We may think that God has forgotten. But God does not grow tired or weary, and neither does He forget the cries of His children.

In His wisdom He allows delays so that He may not only answer our prayers but also in the process renew our depleted strength. So in delays God engineers there is hidden a double blessing.

Answers to prayer demand that we get ready for higher duties. Higher duties demand renewed energy and strength. God in His wisdom sees all this. He first takes away all our strength and then renews them mightily.

With this strength those who hope in the Lord can soar on wings like eagles, and run and walk. From the beds of weary waiting you can now get up and move into the thick of action. It is like a parked car roaring to life!

The renewed energy you had discovered in the process of this long waiting shall propel you forward. All your weakness will be forgotten. All your tiredness will disappear like a vanishing dream.

You will bubble over with strength and you will be charged with power from the Most High. All this is the portion of those who hope in the Lord. Renewal of strength is theirs!
