Jesus sent us another helper. Just like him. The Holy Spirit.
+ He is the one who makes God’s presence and love real in our lives.
+ He is the one called alongside to help. That is what his name parakletos (in Greek) means.
+ He is the one who not only authored the Scriptures but also brings it to life when we read it prayerfully.
+ He is the one who convicts our heart of sin. It is he who points us to the cross and the power of the shed blood of Jesus.
+ He is the one who helps us in our weakness because we do not know how to pray. His prayer is according to God’s will and with unutterable anguish. (Romans 8:26, 27).
+ He will guide you into all truth, bring Scriptures to mind when you need them, enable you to speak boldly and with authority for Jesus.
+ Above all this he seeks a dwelling for himself. Your body is his temple (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20). Why not ask his help to cleanse your body, mind, soul and spirit so that God may dwell in you!
+Why is this important? He is seeking a bride—spotless and pure and without blemish—to present to Jesus Christ before God the Father.
Many are confused about how the Holy Spirit’s presence is known. Sometimes he makes his presence known through gladness and sometimes tears accompany his visitation. Sometimes it is just a gentle knowing in one’s heart that the Comforter has come.
Be sure that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Jesus and the Spirit of holiness. He will only act according to the character of Jesus and always in tune with the Bible.
