The Beginning and The End

Here is an interesting and easy comparison between the first 3 chapters and the last 3 chapters of the Bible. Hope you’ll know that God Himself authored the Scriptures as you see the unmistakable connection between the First and the Last.

Genesis 1 — 3 Revelation 20 — 22
Creation of heaven and earth (1:1) Creation of a new heaven and a new earth (21:1)
The Spirit of God was hovering over the waters (1:2) The Spirit of God is extending an invitation saying, “Come!” (22:17)
“Let there be light” (1:3). Sun, moon and stars were created to give light (1:14–19) Sun and moon not needed. For God’s glory gives light in the new city and the Lamb is its lamp (21:23, 22:5)

Genesis (and other Books) Revelation
God started giving names. He called the light “day” (Genesis 1:3). “God called” and thus started the universal practice of naming things. Adam was given responsibility of giving names to living creatures (Genesis 2:19, 20). To him who overcomes is promised a white stone with a new name written on it (2:17) … Jesus promises to write His new name on those who overcomes (3:12).
First reference to a book God has written. Whoever has sinned will be blotted out of the book (Exodus 32:32, 33). Another important reference, Daniel 7:10; The court was seated and the books were opened. Book of life and other books were opened. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books (20:12). If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire (20:15).
Song at Creation (Job 38:4–7), Heavenly host Praise God at the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:13,14) Songs (5:9, 12; 14:3, 15:3). Roaring shouts of Hallelujah,praise and worship by multitudes and heavenly beings (19:1–7).
The ark of Noah that was lifted high by the flooding waterscomes down to rest on the mountains of Ararat (Genesis 8:4). An angel carries away John in the Spirit to great and highmountain, from where he saw the Holy City, Jerusalem, come down out of heaven from God.(21:10).
God sets the rainbow in the clouds as a sign of remembrance of His everlasting covenant with man and all living creatures on the earth that the waters will never again become a flood to destroy all life (Genesis 9:12 to 17). rainbow, resembling an emerald (i.e. Green in color), encircles the throne of God (4:3).
“In my zeal and fiery wrath I declare that at that time there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel” (Ezekiel 38:19 NIV). “Suddenly,in an instant, the Lord Almighty will come with thunder and earthquake and great noise (Isaiah 29:5b,6a NIV). A severe earthquake that surpasses every other quake since man has been on earth (16:18)
The Beginning (Genesis 1:1, John 1:1–3, Colossians 1:16,17). The Beginning and the End (22:13).
