Light

Light is one of the very first of God’s creation. How lovely it is to dwell on the first words, “Let there be light,” that God spoke in the beginning.

Light reflects God’s nature. For God is light. There is no darkness in Him. He lives in unapproachable light. It shows God’s glory and His holiness.

Light separates from darkness. It exposes hidden things. It is the source of life; without which life is impossible on earth. Light also brings hope; especially the first light of dawn after a dark night.

When Jesus came to this world it was as if, “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.”

Yes, Jesus is the light of the world and he expects you too to be the light of the world. Those who follow Him will not therefore walk in darkness. Instead they will be visible like a city on a hill.

When the Spirit of God dwells in the hearts of His children, then the call is: “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”
