More Privileged than Angels

In the past, mostly angels announced good news. Christmas story is another testimony to this fact. An angel was sent to Joseph, Zechariah, Mary and the shepherds. Even on Resurrection morn, things were almost the same. An angel announced the good news that Jesus has risen (Matthew 28:5). And from then on, good news was given to women and men to be proclaimed to all.

Today, angels do not have the ministry of announcing good news. It is given to you. Have your realized the responsibility that God has given you? Are you acting upon it? Are you trying to tell this good news to others? See, God is expecting your help in getting His good news to be taken to others.

Peter says that it is true that prophets searched intently and with greatest care to know exactly about this good news of salvation. They understood that they themselves had spoken about a time when the good news will be preached to others through people by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven (Ref. 1 Peter 1:10–12). Then Peter says, “Even angels long to look into these things” (1 Peter 1:12z NIV). Therefore, know that you are more privileged than angels. So, tell the good news to others!

Though there is just one mention of an angel proclaiming the eternal gospel (Revelation 14:6,7), mostly the proclamation of angels in the last times involve proclamations of God’s judgment. But the proclamation of the good news has been given to man: “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation”– Jesus (Mark 16:15b NIV).

Further, the Bible says: “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14 NIV). Therefore, you are much more privileged than angels. For it is for you that Jesus came and died! Not just for you; but for others too. So, go, tell them of your Savior. Preach the good news!
