I will strengthen the house of Judah and save the house of Joseph. I will restore them because I have compassion on them. They will be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them (Zechariah 10:6 NIV).
Restoration! What a blessed thought! We long to have restored to us those blessings which once had been ours and which were lost.
Yet with many of us these remain longings of the heart and nothing more. We wish and do not see anything positive happening. So we lose heart.
If you find yourself in this position focus on what God is saying. All the initiative for your restoration comes from God. You cannot even move a little finger to bring it to pass:
It is God who will strengthen you!
It is God who will save you!
It is God who will restore you!
It is God who will have compassion on you!
It is God who will answer you!
So instead of trying hard to bring your restoration to come to pass look to God and watch Him do it for you.
The best part of God’s restoration is that when it comes to pass no one would believe that at one time you were rejected. The restoration will come in such a fashion that the dark valley between the previous time of God’s favor and the present blessing will appear as though it never had been.
Such a restoration is not possible with human effort nor can it be thought of with our limited wisdom. So it is better to look to God; for He is the author of your restoration.
And no need to look further for the reason why He is restoring you. It is because He has compassion on you. It is because He is your God.
And when you are restored the channels of prayer will be thrown open. No longer will your prayers go unheard. He will answer you!
