I Am with You

Hear the Lord’s message to you today: “I am with you.”

He is with you because he has chosen you.

He is with you because he loves you.

He is with you because you are his child.

He is with you and he is mighty to save.

Therefore you need not fear. Go out to your work with the sure knowledge that he will not leave you nor forsake you. When difficulties come your way know that God has gone ahead of you to prepare the way for you.

For all your doubts, God has no other answer but the assurance, “I am with you.” He commands you to be strong. It is because it is not your opposition that matters; but who is with you that matters. “Be strong because I am with you” came as a repeated message to God’s people who were attempting to rebuild the temple (see Haggai 2:4).

The message came to a people who were discouraged. The message came to a people who had their priorities wrong; they were keen on building their houses rather than the house of the LORD. In spite of all this, God is reassuring them of their presence with them. He said, “My Spirit remains among you. Do not fear” (Haggai 2:5).

Not only is God with you, but he has also promised to bless you. He is taking note of the first step you are taking to give him first priority in your life. If you have been thinking too much about your needs and not about God’s kingdom; change your priorities today. Give God first place in your life. And God says, not only am I with you; but “From this day on I will bless you” (Haggai 2:19).

Perhaps you have made several omissions regarding God and his work. Take time to get it right before God now. And then you can go out confident into the world with the knowledge that God is with you.

God’s message to you today, “I am with you,” is the answer to all your doubts and fears. It is the answer to all your feelings of despair and discouragement. Simon Peter got a miraculous catch of fish when he obeyed the words of Jesus to put out into deep water and let down the nets for a catch. This happened because he believed God’s word in spite of the fact that he had toiled all night and caught nothing.

Therefore “I am with you” is not a promise for the future but is God’s guaranteed presence with you now. Believe it and act courageously because God is with you!
