IntroductionThe Bible was written by around 40 authors over a period of 1600 years spanning from around 1500 B.C to around 100 A.D These people were all inspired by the Holy Spirit to write though they wrote in different times and in different circumstances. The following scriptures make this point clear:All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16 NIV) Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20,21 NIV) From these passages it is clear that the Bible is the Word of God. Let us take note of two more characteristics of God's Word:
