Following the death and resurrection of Jesus his name began to impact people. Even today it does with the same dynamite power. Jesus! What does his name mean to you?
First of all the Bible declares that the name of Jesus is the only name given under heaven by which people will be saved (Acts 4:12). Therefore all who call on his name will be saved (Acts 2:21). Jesus!
Secondly, all authority has been given to Jesus and his name (Matthew 28:18). Even demons obey the commands in his name (Luke 10:17). And one day at the name of Jesus, the name that is above every name, every knee in this universe will bow (Philippians 2:9–11). Jesus!
Thirdly, the name of Jesus is hated by many. For he is Lord (Romans 10:9) and people do not want to submit to him. They ask others not to preach in his name (Acts 5:28). But miracles happen by his name, people suffer for his name and continue to preach fearlessly in his name (Acts 4:10, 9:16, 27z, 4:29, 30). Jesus!
Finally, the question is how much do you love, cherish and adore the name of Jesus? Is his name more sweet to you than the name of your best loved on planet Earth? Can you say about Jesus like the beloved said about her lover, “Your name is like perfume poured out” (Song of Songs 1:3). Jesus!
