Remember Your Creator in the Days of Your Youth

Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them” — (Ecclesiastes 12:1 NIV).

The Bible asks you to remember your Creator in the days of your youth. It warns that youth and its vigor will soon pass away and the days of trouble will come.

Then even if you like to remember God; it won’t be as effective as it would have been in your youth. For youth is the time when you are at your best.

Again, youth is a time when you have the freedom to choose. And the Bible commands you to make the choice to remember your Creator in the days of your youth before the days of trouble come.

Youngsters delay to make this choice because the days of trouble and old age seems far away. Many fondly think that youth is to last for ever. But the Bible warns that the days of trouble will come.

Another reason why youth seem not concerned about remembering God is that they seem not to be aware that their thoughts and actions will have consequences which they will have to face.

They forget that God will judge all; both the living and the dead. A remembrance of this truth should inspire youth to remember their Creator.

And when you do so, you will have a Friend in God when you grow old; the best friend with whom you can share those precious memories of your youth as you walked with Him!
